Are there any natural solutions that can help my husband snoring?

Friday, October 16th, 2009

He has tried the over the counter nose strips and the mouth spray. They help some but not enough. He just simply will not have surgery to stop the snoring. I simply need some sleep! Thanks.

The above answer is ridiculous!! Anyways snoring is a sign of restrictive breathing and I actually would not recommend the surgeries whatsoever. They do not work and neither do home remedies. Most likely your husband has obstructive sleep apnea. Snoring is a very good indicator, although not always present. Sleep apnea is associated with many cardiac issues such as high blood pressure, heart failure, stroke and can be fatal if left untreated. Your husband needs to be evaluated by a board certified sleep physician and have a sleep study performed. The only proven effective treatment for sleep apnea is CPAP or continous positive airway pressure and it will stop the snoring so you can get your rest as well. Good luck

How do i stop having sleep paralysis ?

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

ive had it for years, im 20 right now. usually u hear a loud noise which i think comes from me sometimes right before you start seeing things around you. you usually see faces of people and the feeling that someone is in the room. i just want to know how to make it stop. im not afraid of it anymore, but i do try to snap out of it as soon as i can. i have developed a theory : when ever i feel myself start to slip into sleep paralysis i start to wiggle my fingers. it usually works and i wake up, but other times i dont do it in time. what are the causes? could it come from bad sleeping habits. i have a family history of sleeping disorders.

i usually get sleep paralysis when i take afternoon naps that usually lasts for a few hours(i intended on making up for lost sleep but it tends to backfire by causing sleep paralysis) it’s a dreadful, helpless feeling.i can hear all that’s around me,yet i cannot move,as if i was under anesthesia.i also try to wiggle my fingers and later i bolt awake!i think naps disrupt my body clock’s sleeping schedule, so my body is confused and reacts irrationally whenever i take sudden naps.so i would suggest to stick with your regular sleeping schedule and try to avoid taking over limit naps(the suggested nap time is about 15 minutes.anything more is too long) or other bad sleeping habits.

What is the good method to stop snoring?

Tuesday, October 13th, 2009

Dear everybody, could you please help me how to stop snoring when sleeping.
I have sleep apnea, and it is really annoy for my partner, and I don’t know what to do? I already tried to use over the counter stop snoring spray, but it did not work. Please give me good advice, thanks a lot.
Kiddo.

If you know you have sleep apnea it means you have been tested by a doctor. Why on earth didn’t he get you a CPAP machine. That took care of my problem. When you have sleep apnea you stop breathing in your sleep. It will stop the snoring and help you breath.
