How do I turn sleep paralysis into lucid dreaming?
Monday, September 7th, 2009
I get sleep paralysis often and I read that you can turn into lucid dreaming.. does anyone know how?
1.) you have my sympathy, because I know how badly sleep paralysis sucks.
#2.)the key to lucid dreaming is to know you are dreaming- are you aware that you are having sleep paralysis
WHEN you are having it?
I took over a nightmare once, as soon as I realized it was a nightmare. In my nightmare I had to battle a samurai warrior(he had full armor, and years of experience) and My only weapons were a policeman’s bullet proof vest and a large bread knife!!!
I was standing at the appointed place to battle him, and then I looked down at myself and thought- this is STUPID!
Of course! I’m dreaming! I pointed at the door (the one he was due to arrive in) and said "You will NOT come out!"
I waited for a few moments….and he didn’t arrive., I knew I stopped my nightmare.. and then proceeded to have a ton of fun.
If you can realize it’s a paralysis episode, I don’t see any reason why you can’t take it over.
People take over their dreams all the time-and sleep paralysis is a type of dream- REM is going on at the time.
Some people say one of the methods for taking over dreams is to – in waking life- always say: "Am I dreaming?" and look around your surroundings, and come to the determination if you are or not… do this often enough, and this behavior will filter into your dreams as well.
This is a short, poorly edited video response for anyone “suffering” from sleep paralysis. I feel I know quite a bit about SP (its history, common “symptoms,” techniques for avoiding it, techniques for making it more common, its ociation with lucid dreaming and out of body experiences, as well as techniques for moving from sleep paralysis to out of body experiences and lucid dreams). I started to make a video thoroughly explaining all of this, but realized it was going to be extremely long and possibly for nothing. Didn’t want to spend my time if it wasn’t worth it. Anyway, if you are interested in knowing more, you are welcome to ask. I don’t know everything, but I know how the experiences work with myself and many others.
