Sleep Paralysis: Don’t be afraid!

This is a short, poorly edited video response for anyone “suffering” from sleep paralysis. I feel I know quite a bit about SP (its history, common “symptoms,” techniques for avoiding it, techniques for making it more common, its ociation with lucid dreaming and out of body experiences, as well as techniques for moving from sleep paralysis to out of body experiences and lucid dreams). I started to make a video thoroughly explaining all of this, but realized it was going to be extremely long and possibly for nothing. Didn’t want to spend my time if it wasn’t worth it. Anyway, if you are interested in knowing more, you are welcome to ask. I don’t know everything, but I know how the experiences work with myself and many others. Background music by Woven from the album “Designer Codes” for sale on itunes. Worth every cent and then some!

    I had sleep …
I had sleep paralysis for 5 years then i realized it was because i was ignoring God’s call. I would like to believe it’s a natural process, but when i asked Jesus into my life it stopped. I also have reason to believe it’s demonic because when i was writing down a prayer on a notecard from my computer screen i started falling asleep. When i woke up the notecard said the word “Coppy Cat” on the bottom line. Don’t submit to it. It may be fun at first, but that’s part of the trap.

    i respect all …
i respect all believed ideas by those who have had those experiences, its all about beliefs, in my experience i believe its more spiritual, but something negative, ’cause you feel fear, i was able to stop this experiences that i had so often to the point that i got used to it, and thought it wasn’t as bad after all, just like adrenaline but in other terms. its been more than 5 years it doesnt happen to me againg, i confronted whoever it was, i can share my story but too long for a coment

    I have sleep …
I have sleep paralysis. The first time I had it I thought, illogically, that I was actually paralysed, that somehow I would never be able to move again.

Now that I know it’s nothing scary, I think it’s so cool and I love getting it. I always have it when I’m just about to fall asleep now and it doesn’t last as long.

Well I had my first sleep parylisis experience.. about a day ago.. I was asleep. But then I though I was awake .. It was really sort of a blurr. I had no idea if I was awake or not. It was like I could move but I couldnt.. If that makes any since. It felt like it was 5 hours in the dream/reality.. And then this scary unicorn type thing came up it was like a plush.. Then it tortured me.. I couldnt move screen or cry. Then I woke up and though I was awake but didnt know If I was or not.

    Read Robert …
Read Robert Monroe’s “Journeys out of the Body” or William Buhlman’s “Adventures Beyond the Body” for a more in-depth understanding. The experience has never harmed me in any way, and I have never felt threatened while in this state.

  8. imanselmo Says:

    The experience is …
The experience is highly subjective and, thus, almost impossible to measure scientifically in the lab. All I can really say is that, and OBE is some unusual state of mind that exists while the body is relativiely uninvolved and basically “asleep.” It is similar to a dream, but much more vivid. The only way to know how “real” it is would be to experiment with leaving or aqquiring some sort of physical evidence while out of body, which some people claim to have done.

  9. imanselmo Says:

    The reason I used …
The reason I used all the quotation marks is because I think the popular understanding of this phenomena is that you have a ghost living inside your body and that this “soul” or whatever can slip out somehow, leaving your body in danger of possession by an evil spirit or possibly causing your “soul” to be lost in some other world. I’m just not sure how accurate this view is. It seems quite muddled with superstition to me. An OBE could actually be an extremely lucid dream or something else.

    check out my other …
check out my other two SP videos (if you don’t have the time, just check out part 2). In short, I would say that “getting back inside your body,” if that is was really happens, is not hard to do. It is harder to stay “out of your body.” Usually as soon as you notice that you are “outside” of it, that awareness will focus attention back to your body and snap you “awake” back “inside.” To get back “inside” all you have to do is think “I want to go back” and it happens automatically.

    Two songs in the …
Two songs in the background: “been a long time” and “cosmonaut” by a band called “Woven.” Absolutely phenomenal band. I strongly recommend them to anyone and everyone. The album “8 Bit Monk” is the more radio friendly of their albums. Their newest, called “Designer Codes” (the album from which the two songs on this video were taken) is more for the person who is able to set aside an hour or so and take in an entire album as a whole concept…but still great songs on the individual level.

  15. GUESTIMATE Says:

    If you experience …
If you experience sleep paralysis and do not overcome the fear then you are missing out on a very interesting experience.

If you let yourself go and not worry you will become conscious of entering into another dimension with a lunar double of your physical body. Going into this other dimension you can learn many things about yourself and the reality of consciousness etc.

Do not waste this experience :D

There is nothing to fear… fear is an obstacle!

would love to talk to someone that has similar experiences. i know some people try to induce OBEs but im to much of a wus and scared of the unknown i suppose.

  17. MsJenny83 Says:

    hey,
    i experience …

    hey,
i experience sleep paralysis, i remember it happening to me for the first time when i was about 4 years old, i didnt really have it much through childhood but started getting it alot from about the age of 20, (now 26 and still happening) i have experienced OBEs, noises including bells and people having conversations. during SP when i realise i am in the state i try to move, as soon as i do this it leads to the OBE but i dont want it to happen so i stop trying to move and it prevents it.

Sleep paralysis and seizures are two different things. I’m certainly not qualified to tell you which one you are experiencing especially without knowing any of the details.

  24. pr0llyn0t Says:

Well we all get sleep paralysis every night we sleep, it’s just that we aren’t aware of it happening all the time. But when we are aware we should all be able to use it to our advantage to explore the astral world and experience this other “realtiy”.

Hey dude, nice video, I had SP last night, I have some every couple of years, so it is not that bad. anyways, I was searching for some documentary of it, or a cientific video, maybe with doctors or something, and it sucks that you only get this “mystical ghost story” videos, like it is something esoterical. It is nice to see a normal personal talking about it.
